We are still in need of Volunteers for this event - If you are interested in helping please let us know.
(Many of our volunteer positions have been filled this is a list of what is still needed)
1 week before event you will be sent a more detailed job description with all the specifics you need.
Donations: And/Or things we need to borrow
* Printing of our Playbills (We will put a link to you on website and list you in Playbill)
* Printing of our T-shirts and or Bumper stickers (We will put a link to you on our website and add you to our playbill)
*Raffle prizes, Books, Slings, Health items, CD's, Video's, Gift certificates, etc. (You will be listed in the playbill)
* Gift bag items, Samples etc.
* We need 6 to 12 Round table - White tablecloth's(You can have a performance ticket at the student cost)
* Coloring books (Can download Homebirth coloring books from www.nchomebirth.com or buy breastfeeding coloring books from Noodle soup) crayons, crafts, strybooks, Bubbles, kids toys - small kids chairs etc for a small childs area in gym, we wil be renting two small childrens tables and chairs to have a small area where children can be entertained for small amounts of time. - (Tell us what you would like and what you are doing)
* If anyone wants to donate or let us borrow Pretty Teapots, Pretty red fabric, table cloth's, large comfy pillows, easy to transport comfy chairs for moms to sit and nurse, comfy clean rugs to make the area more comfortable or items that will help any of our events look better and fill more comfortable please send us an email and let us know what you would like to do or bring.
Volunteers:
* We need a videotagrapher who would be willing to tape at least one night of our BIRTH, performance and talkbacks and our BOLD RED TENT (Will be allowed to come to events free - we need two copies of video - you will also be listed in Playbill and on Website)
* We need one or two people in each time slot on Saturday as listed below to sit at the main registration table and sign people in and make sure they get a gift bag, wrist bands and schedule Saturday: 11:00 till 1:00, 1:00 till 3:00 and 3:00 till 5:00. (You can have a play performance ticket at the student cost or enter into the Red Tent for free) Please put the times you don't mind doing this on your form so I can remove times as we have volunteers!
* We need 1 person in charge of helping exhibitors in setting up, letting them know where they can park to unload, where to bring their stuff in, where they can plug in for electricity to help them make sure extension cords are taped down properly and their booths are safe, in showing them where their table's are etc. Job will be from 9:30 am till 11:30 am (You can have a play performance ticket at the student cost or entrance into the Red tent or movie)
* We need one Volunteer to help exhibitors tear down - Make sure they are reminded at 4:30 that their booth needs to be completely broken down and stuff out of gym by 5:25 in helping them with getting their stuff to cars without putting anyone in danger that is in parking lot for other events In otherwords check out the parking lot situation pryer to 4;30 and see where and how the easiest way will be of helping Exhibitors get their car closer so they can load up) This job will be from 4:00 to 6:00 (You can have a play performance ticket at the student cost or come to the Red Tent for free or to the movie - w/out lunch for free)
* We need two volunteers on both Friday night and Saturday night from 5:15 till 7:15 to check people into the reception and make sure they have an arm band - either paid at door or check list to see if prepaid - and give armband (You will receive free dinner for this) and to clean up from the reception and throw out trash, get the leftover food to wherever it needs to go - strip the tablecloth's and put where need to go etc. (You can have a play performance ticket on the oppisite night of the night you volunteer)
* 11:45 on Saturday we need someone to make sure all exhibitors who paid for a meal receive their meal at their table and make sure sure the main trash cans are emptied after lunch at 1:00.
(You can enter into the Red tent for free or get the student cost on the Performance)
* We need 2 people with at least one that can work electronics to set up the theater for the film, show film and put everything back from where you got it and make sure theater cleaned up real quick. Job from 11:30 to 1:30 (You will get to see the film for free)
*We need one helper to help ICAN make sure all lunch's are handed out to those who ordered lunch as they are heading into the film. (You will get to see the film for free)
* We need 1 person in each time slot listed below to stand at the door throughout each of these full events to make sure everyone coming in has a wristband for that event and to help moderate if anyone needs anything 11:45 till 1:00 for lunch and film, You will be in charge of making sure those that enter the room for the film have armbands and give them what they need to get a lunch once inside if they also paid for lunch. 1:15 to 3:00 for BOLD Red Tent - you will check armbands for folks entering and exiting. 3:30 to 4:30 for High Tea with Midwives, give everyone that entrs a armband remind Midwives they can go sit on stage and tell consumers to take a seat in theater chairs.
* We need an announcer throughout the day on Saturday for the speakers and Raffle area in Gym - Will give opening announcement - keep eye on time, give speaker 10 minute warning that it is almost their time to speak, introduce speakers and give speaker 3 minute wrap it up signal, announce raffle winner - if person is not there call them on cell phone. Give announcement throughout day of when each event is starting, give finale days announcements - schedule and specific announcements will be given to you 1 week prior to event. Or we can have 1 announcer from 11:00 to 2:00 and one from 2:00 to 5:00

* We need 1 person in each time slot below out in the parking lot and by the road helping people with parking issues from 9:30 Saturday till 11:30 and from 11:30 to 1:30 and 1:30 to 3:30 then again from 5:00 till 7:00 - the 5:00 to 7:00 slot person will need to cordinate with the helper of exhibitors at this time to facilitate exhibitors being able to get their cars as close to building 1 at a time to load their stuff and needs to help make sure there are not people in the way of the cars.
* On Friday evening and Saturday evening we need 2 per each night people that are willing to check folks in for the perfomance and make sure they have an armband and are registered for that night. Job from 6:15 till end of show - You can come to the 1st or 2nd show - performance - whichever one you are not workng at for free. You will also need to be selling performance tickets/wristbands to those that did not prepurchase.
* We need two people on both Friday and saturday night to volunteer to be ushers for the BIRTH performance - job will be from 6:30 till play is over - (You will be able to stand right inside of the door and see the play)
* We need 1 Volunteer on Friday night and 1 on saturday night to man the table with BOLD/BIRTH and GFOM items for sell during intermission. Same times as above listed for intermission, preshow and aftershow sells
* We need three people who can help set upand break down Theater for BOLD RED Tent at 1:00 to 1:15 - lay out pillows, get chair for the one sharing story ready sit out items to make rom comfy, have water and cups for event ready to go etc. Then put everything back and away from 3:00 to 3:15 (You can join in on Red tent for free. We need three people who can help GFOM set up at 3:15 till 3;30 and break down from 4:30 till 4:45 the theater room for High tea with Midwives GFOM will direct you on what to do - Table set up, nicknacks for room to be comfy, trash cans in apropraite locations, water for tea etc. Afterwards tablebreakdown, trash out, room cleaned up - everything back in it's spot.
* We need 3 volunteers who can help sit out everything needed for reception from 5:00 to 5:30 - put fresh tablecloth's on table sit out drinks, make sure food is all out and nicely presented, make sure trashcans are close by, make sure napkins, plates, cups and such are out and centerpiece is on each table and whatever else needs to be done - extra chairs etc. Make sure speaker for honoree is in the right place at the right time, a detailed description of job will be mailed out to you. (You can have a play performance ticket at the student cost)
* We need someone with a truck that can pick up our rented tables and party supplies on Thursday the 17th in the early evening or by Friday no later than 3:00 and who can pack up our tables on Saturday evening between 6:30 and 10:00 (You will have helpers to break down and carry to truck) who can take them and then take them back to party rental place on Sunday or Monday depending on when party rental place is open (Person who does this will receive one free performance ticket)
